During a routine ultrasound, pregnant Swiftie Marie Smith noticed her baby was forming the shape of a heart with her fingers, just like Taylor Swift does on stage
Smith had already decided to dedicate her biggest pregnancy milestones to the singer, from her Swift-themed announcement to the baby shower she’s planning
She posted the sonogram with her daughter’s pose on Facebook and TikTok, where thousands of fellow fans gushed over the adorable ode to the singer
A pregnant Swiftie learned some exciting news from a routine visit to the doctor: her daughter is looking like a Taylor Swift fan too!
Marie Smith spotted a tell-tale sign of her baby’s music taste during her 12-week ultrasound. Her little one’s hands were curled into a heart symbol, just like the iconic gesture Swift makes on stage.
The 27-year-old tells PEOPLE she couldn’t believe her eyes when she first noticed her daughter’s pose in the sonogram. In fact, she waited to say anything until the doctor conducting the ultrasound pointed it out first.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so glad you said something. I wanted to make sure I was seeing it right. But I’m the biggest Taylor Swift fan, so I was sitting here dying and I’m so glad you said it,’ ” recalls Smith, whose daughter is due to arrive in October.
The Baltimore-based mom certainly fits the description for Swift’s biggest fan. Smith was in the seventh grade when the country-turned-pop star dropped her debut album, and she’s stuck with Swift through every era since.
Last summer, Smith — who is already mom to 17-month-old Nashton — took her 8-year-old cousin to see The Eras Tour in Pittsburgh. She tells PEOPLE she worked a second job and saved up money for months to attend the record-breaking concert.
Naturally, when Smith learned she was expecting a baby girl, she decided to make her entire pregnancy Swift-themed. To announce the news, Smith, her fiancé Frederick and their son posed with a custom onesie bearing the fitting lyrics “Enchanted to meet you” alongside their second baby’s due date.
The super-Swiftie was eager to share her daughter’s heart hands with fellow fans online, so she uploaded the sonogram to a Facebook page dedicated to the 14-time Grammy winner.
“I am having my first baby girl in October and had a sonogram a few weeks ago. She was doing the ‘Fearless heart’ above her head like perfectly,” Smith captioned her post, adding, “Die hard Swiftie, before birth.”
In the comments, Facebook users congratulated Smith and urged her to share the ultrasound results on other social media platforms. Her TikTok video garnered 23,600 likes over the course of a single day.
“Raising my baby girl right,” she wrote alongside a collage of the sonogram and Swift holding up heart hands during her original Fearless era at the time of the album’s release in 2008.
The “Cruel Summer” singer’s army of fans voiced their appreciation in the comments once again.
“As an ultrasound tech, finding this is my new career goal,” one person wrote.
Another TikTok user noted how the “lil Taylor tot” is “getting ready for a future concert.” Smith tells PEOPLE she’s hoping this is the case, even though she worries Swift might break from touring after wrapping her current career retrospective.
“Everybody’s saying, ‘She’s done, this will be the last tour,’ ” Smith says. “She has to just do one more. I have to take this kid.”
Whether or not they make it to another tour, Smith is sure that her daughter will inherit her Swiftie spirit. The little girl won’t, however, inherit the hitmaker’s first name.
No, Smith won’t be calling her daughter Taylor, as so many fans have suggested on Facebook and TikTok. She’s already decided on the name Blakelynn, but in true Swiftie spirit, the proud mom has dropped Easter eggs into her two kids’ names.
“I try to tie it in a little bit,” Smith tells PEOPLE. “My son is Nashton, so I like to say that Nash is where Taylor got her start. And then Blakelynn is Blake Lively, [Swift’s] best friend.”
