Meghan Markle shares Archie and Lilibet’s voices for first time in heartbreaking video

Meghan Markle recently shared a heartfelt video on her new Instagram account, announcing the passing of her beloved beagle, Guy, whom she had rescued a decade ago. The emotional tribute included rare photos and clips of Guy with Prince Harry, their children Archie and Lilibet, and the family dog.

In the montage, viewers were touched by scenes like Archie walking Guy under the sun and Lilibet cuddling in Meghan’s arms during a family picnic. Notably, the video featured the first public appearance of Archie’s voice, as he expressed concern about Guy’s safety during a car ride, to which Meghan gently reassured him. The video ended with Archie, Lilibet, and Meghan singing a sweet tune dedicated to Guy: “We love you Guy! And we’ll be true, when you’re not near us, we’re blue!”

This intimate glimpse into the Sussexes’ family life warmed fans’ hearts. Although there was no comment option on Meghan’s post, admirers took to X to express their delight, with comments like, “I just love seeing the little family moments in this video and the singing at the end,” and another simply saying, “That’s adorable.”

Harry and Meghan have always been protective of their children’s privacy. However, they recently shared a tender family moment on their 2024 Christmas card, showing Archie and Lilibet running into their parents’ arms. A source told PEOPLE, “Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety. He wants them to live as normal a life as possible without fear of harm.”

In her tribute, Meghan shared the deep grief she felt over Guy’s passing, writing, “I have cried too many tears to count. The type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s OK too.”

Meghan reminisced about adopting Guy from a shelter in Kentucky in 2015, saving him from near-certain death. Guy had been with her through many life milestones, including her time on Suits, her engagement and wedding, and her journey into motherhood.

She recalled a challenging time when Guy suffered a severe accident before she moved to the UK in 2017. After multiple surgeries and a long recovery, he defied the odds and walked again, thanks to the care of Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick. “Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick said he could do it,” she revealed. “Harry and I would drive late at night, after hours, to see Guy as he recovered in Surrey for months on end.”

Guy will also be featured in Meghan’s upcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan, premiering on January 15. The eight-episode series offers insights into her life at a California estate, focusing on cooking, gardening, and entertaining. Meghan expressed her hope that viewers would fall in love with Guy, understanding her deep sorrow over his loss.

She shared that Guy’s name originated from his nickname, “the little guy,” due to his small and frail stature at the rescue center. Meghan and Harry also have two other pets: another rescue beagle named Mia and a black Labrador called Pula.
