The Princess of Wales is no longer willing to play the role of “peacemaker” between Prince Harry and Prince William following her cancer battle, says expert.
The Princess of Wales will not be playing “peacemaker” for Prince Harry anymore as she is shifting her efforts towards the future of the monarchy instead, a royal author has claimed.
Princess Kate has long been rumoured to have been a key player when it came to mending the rift between the two feuding brothers, but Christopher Andersen, author of The King, claimed that following her cancer battle, she has “finally thrown up her hands in disgust” and is now focusing on her other priorities.
The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from the Royal Family ever since his departure in 2020 and explosive claims that followed his move to the US.
Harry has made several allegations regarding his time as a working royal within the Firm and has publicly spoken about his rocky relationship with Prince William and King Charles in TV interviews, his Netflix dosuseries Harry & Meghan and his memoir, Spare, which is set to be released in paperback soon.
Mr Andersen told Fox News: “The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is rubbish.
“She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust.
“She did her bit, but it wasn’t enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other.”
Meanwhile, veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams agreed and told the outlet Kate is “totally at one” with her husband over his handling of the brotherly feud.
He said: “Harry portrayed her [Kate] as cold and unwelcoming to [his wife] Meghan Markle in Spare, when he painted an extremely damaging picture of the royal family.
“The memoir is soon to be released in paperback and his allegations will surface again, though fortunately, he will not be adding to the volume or promoting it. He knows perfectly well how damaging it has been.”
Spare is due to be released in paperback in the UK on October 24.
The expert added that the princess is now making a gradual return to royal duties as she now focuses on her health.
He said: “We have recently seen encouraging signs of Catherine’s recovery. Her focus, as she has said, is being ‘cancer-free’.”
The Princess of Wales announced the completion of her cancer treatment in an emotional video which was released last month.
Kate spoke about her cancer journey and said that she is now focusing on doing what she can to stay cancer-free, with a “renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life”.
